Trailer
This film in an attempt to present a synthesis of the social and cultural changes that occurred in the People’s Republic of Poland, seen through the life of a peasant’s son, who overcame class and generation barriers, thanks to his extraordinary will power and obstinacy. The price, however, was his happiness and the family’s. Michał receives education, climbs up the professional ladder, but becomes separated from his own community. He abandons his wife and son, to be married to a girl “from a good family”. The marriage doesn’t stand the test of time. Michał decides to bring up his sons, which leads to tragic consequences.
