Mirosław Baka to receive the Golden Angel for Artistic Insolence!

This year, the recipient of the world’s one of a kind award for artistic insolence will be an extraordinary actor and artist – a creator of complex and deeply moving characters, who has the rare ability to stir emotions, provoke unease, and never leaves his audience indifferent, whether on screen or on stage. We are proud to announce that this year’s Golden Angel for Artistic Insolence will be awarded to Mirosław Baka.

The Award for Artistic Insolence is a special honor presented to remarkable figures from the world of film and culture – bold, independent creators who remain true to their vision and continue to surprise us with their work. It is an honor for me that during this year’s festival we will present it to Mirosław Baka. An actor who has consistently delivered original and outstanding performances says BellaTOFIFEST IFF Director, Kafka Jaworska.

Mirosław Baka is an outstanding Polish film, theatre, and television actor, known for his performances in some of the most important works of Polish cinema. He has worked with Kieślowski, Wajda, Pasikowski, Lankosz, and other excellent directors. The actor has had dozens of film roles to his name in both Polish and international productions. He appeared in films such as: “A Short Film About Killing”, “The Ring with a Crowned Eagle”, “Demons of War”, “The Last Mission”, “Amok”, “By the River Nowhere”, “Reich”, “There and Back”, “80 milionów”, “Wałęsa: Man of Hope”, “Jack Strong”, “Psy 3”, “Legiony”, “The Peasants”, “Sami swoi. Początek” as well as in many TV series, including: “Fala zbrodni”, “Prawo Agaty”, “Czas honoru” and “Belfer”. He has also dubbed productions such as “Finding Nemo”, “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory”, “Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad” and “Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty”.
