Eliza Rycembel to receive the Bella Woman Golden Angel Award for a European Actress!

The 23rd edition of the BellaTOFIFEST International Film Festival will mark already the sixth occasion to present the Bella Woman Golden Angel Award for a European Actress, this time in collaboration with our strategic sponsor TZMO S.A. and the Bella Brand.

Every year, this award is given to honour the artists who demonstrate versatile talents, artistic sensitivity, and a multi-dimensional artistic expression. During this year’s Opening Gala of the festival, the statuette will be presented to Eliza Rycembel. The festival programme also includes the BELLA WOMAN section dedicated to the films featuring a selection of films she was cast in.

Eliza Rycembel is considered to be one of the most talented and popular Polish actresses of the young generation. She is a graduate of the Acting Department of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. Her acting career began on stage of the Roma Musical Theatre. She also performed in other theatres, for example Na Woli Theatre. She made her film début as Lili in ‘Obietnica / The Word’ (2014) directed by Anna Kazejak. This brought her an Award for the Best Actress at the Vienna International Film Festival. Following that success, she was cast in such film productions as ‘Carte Blanche’ (2015) directed by Jacek Lusiński, ‘Niewinne / Agnus Dei’ (2016) directed by Anne Fontaine, ‘#Wszystkogra / Game On’ (2016) directed by Agnieszka Glińska, ‘Nina’ (2018) directed by Olga Chajdas, ‘Piłsudski’ (2019) directed by Michał Rosa, or in ‘Ciemno, prawie noc / Dark, Almost Night’ (2019) directed by Borys Lankosz. She also appeared in many short films, for example in ‘Milczenie polskich owiec’ (2017) directed by Maciej Stuhr, in short film exercises, television plays, and plays released online. One of the most important roles on the big screen, in which she proved to be both a versatile actress and a talented singer, came in the film ‘Boże ciało / Corpus Christi’ (2019) directed by Jan Komasa. Among the many awards she received for the role, there was the Eagle Polish Film Award for the Best Supporting Actress and an Award for the Best Actress at the Gdynia Film Festival. She was also cast in the film ‘Irena’s Vow’ (2023) directed by Louise Archambault. Eliza Rycembel is also a popular actress in television productions, such as ‘Belfer 2’ (2017), ‘Ślepnąc od świateł / Blinded by the Lights’ (2018), ‘1983’ (2018), ‘Odwróceni. Ojcowie i córki’ (2019), ‘Osiecka’ (2020), ‘Nieobecni 2’ (2022), or ‘Przesmyk’ (2024).

In 2019, she was nominated for the Zbigniew Cybulski Award for the role in ‘Nina,’ and also received an Honorary Mention at the 33th edition of the Tarnów Film Award. In 2023, the short film ‘Nie mów tak do mnie / Don't Talk To Me Like That’ brought her a nomination for the Jan Machulski Award in the Best Actress category. In 2016, she received the ‘Talent Trójki’ Award in the Film category ‘for the maturity and truth demonstrated in her film roles; for proving herself in very demanding roles; for memorable and captivating film personality, and finally for being an acting discovery of the recent years.’

The 23rd edition of the BellaTOFIFEST International Film Festival takes place from 28th June to 4th July, 2025, in Toruń, in the region of Kujawy and Pomorze.
